Eileen’s 90th Birthday Party

At our afternoon meeting in January, we celebrated the 90th birthday of one of our very faithful members, Eileen Jennings.  It was the third of her special family celebrations, this time with her Mothers’ Union family.

We didn’t run to a stretched-out limo, as had been her means of transport to her special family lunch,  she had to walk to our ‘do’.   Father Douglas thanked God for her many years of work and witness to the Lord in a celebration of the Eucharist.  This was followed by lunch in church washed down, as you can see, by a glass or two!  It was a very happy day.

Summer Outing 2007 - An Eventful Evening!

There was a great demand for our summer outing - a tour of the Forest of Bowland followed by supper at the Calf’s Head at Worston.

Well, things got off to a bad start when we boarded the coach and found that there were not enough seats for everyone, they had sent the wrong coach!  We waited for a while until a larger coach arrived.  Still in good humour we set off for Worston to pick up the tour guide, only to find that there was no seat for him!  No one had reminded us that he would need a seat.  However, three of our young members volunteered to miss out on the tour in favour of a glass or two at the Calf’s Head.  We finally got going on the tour, but as we had wasted quite a bit of time the tour was rather curtailed, however it was very enjoyable.

Our three friends were still able to stand when we arrived back at the Calf’s Head where we joined them for a lovely.

We meet in the Vestry

Thursday mornings during term-time

 between 10.00am and 11.30am

We hope our group will give the children and their parents/carers the opportunity to play and socialize together, be supportive and caring and help to promote family life.  This group will be open to all (regardless of race, culture, gender or creed).  All parents/carers will have the opportunity to contribute to the running of the group.
