The Mothers’ Union (MU) promised a warm welcome at their stand at the Royal Lancashire Show this year – and that is certainly what we got.

The day turned out to be baking hot, after a very rainy start.

We arrived at the MU stand, Mother, three children and Nana.  Baby crying for her feed, Charlie was hot and bothered, Thomas raring to go and Nana just wanting to sit down.  Drinks and biscuits were immediately brought to us.  The boys played with the many toys, Mum fed and changed baby and Nana beamed and felt proud to belong to this wonderful organisation.

There was a great selection of cards and gifts on sale, a balloon race to enter and a “goodie bag” to take with us when we left.

We came back again for lunch and later still for afternoon tea! The Show itself had something for everyone and we all had a thoroughly enjoyable day

10 years ago, during the First International Year of the Family, the Mothers’ Union in Blackburn Diocese wanted to reach out to families in Lancashire and felt that organising nappy-changing facilities at the Royal Lancashire Show would be appreciated. A small tent was hired and we were in business.

2 years later the Police asked us to look after lost Children.

Since then, each year we have built up the facilities and now provide an oasis of welcome respite for families.

What happens at the MU stand?

Change Your Baby Here!

No, sorry you can't swap your little sweetheart for another model, but you can clean them up, feed them and take some time out to rest and play.

Picnic area, toddler toys and Mothers Union cards and gifts all available. Most of all a warm welcome!
