The fantastic sum of £4175 .43 was raised earlier this year
with our successful Diocesan Rainbow Bonanza sale.
The money raised was donated to equip a Mothers'
Union Clinic in the grounds of the Cathedral in Offa, Nigeria. The Clinic
is now commissioned and dedicated, and the annual report says,
"We appreciate the goodness of the Lord in how
far he has brought us with the Mothers' Union clinic. We are trusting the
Lord that soon He will take us to a greater height by making the clinic a
source of spiritual, moral and physical healing and blessings to humanity
and we really appreciate your immense contribution to the work of the
Mothers Union in this Diocese".
Each Deanery was
asked to provide and sell items in a particular colour scheme. Everyone
went to town and were really imaginative, there were Lavender scented
cakes on the Purple Stall.
St. Martin's Church
Hall, Fulwood was the venue & as you walked through the door there was
a dazzling display of colour with many different approaches to fund
raising: a Tombola, stalls, 'Guess the Birthday' , 'Guess Who You Will
Have Tea With' - maybe the Queen or Elton John!
Preston Deanery
provided the delightful refreshments which were very much appreciated.
The whole day was a
great success both in fellowship & raising money for Mothers' Union
Worldwide due to team work & commitment of the Mothers' Union Members
- thank you.
