Our Deanery includes both urban and rural parishes and extends from Preston city in the west to Grimsargh, Longridge and Ribchester further to the east.

River Ribble, Preston

We have 8 branches with members aged from just under 30 up to the 90’s

(some of these being what we call “indoor members” and not being able to attend meetings due to infirmity but yet still very much involved).

Our Annual Festival takes place in the summer

We all meet together to worship, going round to each church in rotation and on this occasion displaying our beautiful Mothers’ Union banners.  Of course these occasions always end with refreshments and a lot of sharing of news between branches.

Many parishes run a “mums and toddlers” group and these are often run by or helped by our members and this is a valuable contact with young mums.

Royal Lancashire Show

Our presence at the Show each year is welcomed by young families, being a place where youngsters can play safely while mum and dad can have a cup of tea, with facilities for nappy changing.

All members in their daily lives try to promote what it means to be a member of the worldwide Mothers’ Union, by supporting Christian family life in all its forms, and by remembering both practically and in prayer our members throughout the world.
