The project to create this beautiful banner was led by Anne Riley, with help from other skilled embroiderers.

wpe14.jpg (225401 bytes) The Banner can be seen at Mothers' Union Diocesan events and is taken around the Diocese to the Deanery Festivals. If you get the opportunity to study this remarkable textile design closely, do take it... but no touching! 

 

The banner in Blackburn Cathedral during Epiphany. wpe1.jpg (49046 bytes) The banner was dedicated by Bishop Alan Chesters at Blackburn Cathedral on 23rd November 2002

The tribute reads:

Our grateful thanks to all who have given their time and talents to produce this beautiful banner. Without doubt their wonderful work will be treasured by the Blackburn Diocesan Mothers' Union and bring joy to those who see it in all its splendour.
