The Diocese of Nsukka, Nigeria (province2) & Ibadan, Nigeria (Province 1) were linked with Blackburn in 1998 & 2002 respectively.

Mothers' Union in the Diocese are concerned with spiritual and physical well being of it's members. Although there are many problems related to Tribal differences the Christians in Nigeria simply ask that we pray for them. Location

Diocesan Presidents Mrs Rosalind Ilonuba (Nsukka) and Mrs Juliet Okubadejo (Ibadan) are both wives of the Diocesan Bishops.

The Mothers' Union campaign tirelessly to improve the rights of women and prevent the exploitation of children.

Members work women's refuges, hospices, hospitals and prisons.

Climate

varies; equatorial in south, tropical in centre, arid in north

periodic droughts and flooding are natural hazards

Stability in marriage is encouraged, as is the involvement of young women in the service of God.

Membership of the MU is limited to women married in the church. This has affected membership, as many men are traditionalists, preferring polygamous marriage Terrain
