Happy
Birthday Ma'am from Euxton
Euxton Parish Mothers Union, Chorley Deanery celebrated
our Queen's 80th birthday with a Tea Party at the home of our treasurer
Margaret Clarke. About fifty members sat out in the warm sunshine in the
beautiful garden and enjoyed
tea and cakes.
We had a Make A Crown competition, a Royal Jelly Products Raffle, a Red,
White and Blue Bring and Buy stall and a Royal Quiz.
A birthday cake was decorated with a crown filled with tiny sugar daffodils
by our talented member Betty Halliwell and this was cut by our oldest
member Elsie Hall who remembered the Queen being born when she was 15
years old! As well as having a wonderful time we also raised £200 for the
Mothers Union Literacy Fund.

Deanery Festival
Our annual festival is in late May. As we
are a large Deanery we can only rotate between our larger churches. This
year we met at St Wilfred's, Standish. On this occasion, two new banners
were displayed from St Wilfred's and Brindle St James.
Members of Chorley Deanery helped
create all the colours of the rainbow at the Diocesan Rainbow Sale.

| Indoor
Members
Our indoor members are always on our minds and the
annual party for them is always a happy and joyous occasion.
This past year St George's, Chorley hosted this event
when we welcomed our new Deanery Chaplain, Rev John Hudson from Coppull. |
