Mothers’ Union members work as volunteers in Child Contact Centres

  • A Child Contact Centre is a friendly and neutral place where the children of divorced and separated parents can meet, by arrangement, and spend time with their non-resident parent.

For more information visit the National Association of Child Contact Centres at www.naccc.org.uk

If you would like to become a Mothers’ Union volunteer send your details to contact@mothersunionblackburn.org.uk

  • In general, a Child Contact Centre is used by separated families who want their children to have contact with both parents and maybe other members of the family such a grandparents.
  • Trained, experienced and friendly volunteers run the Centres.  The Centres provide a safe environment where the emphasis is on the child.  The atmosphere is pleasant and the resident parent can leave their child with confidence.

Mothers' Union operates a 'Safe From Harm' Policy following national guidelines. All volunteers working with children will be required to complete a police 'disclosure' request.
  • Arrangements to use Child Contact Centres can be made through Solicitors, Social Services, Citizens Advice Bureaux, Family Mediation services or SureStart.
