WHAT WE DO

Mothers' Union members bring a variety of practical help and support to their parish and community.   Local initiatives may include marriage preparation, parenting courses, parent and toddler groups and other community outreach projects.    Financial support for projects in the provinces of Canterbury, Wales, Ireland, Scotland and York is available from the CWISY fund.

Following training sessions for the Mothers' Union Parenting Programme facilitators, local courses are taking place around the country. The Parenting Programme is one of two programmes which benefited from fund-raising events celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Mothers' Union - the other is the Literacy and Development Programme currently available in Burundi and Malawi.

Members contribute to the worldwide work of the organisation through its Overseas and Relief Funds.

World Wide grants support community workers and help to provide leadership training, transport and encouragement for self-help initiatives in developing countries.

Mission Statement

The Mothers' Union is a Christian organisation which promotes the well-being of families world-wide.

We achieve this by:

developing prayer and spiritual growth in families;

studying and reflecting on family life and marriage and its place in society;

resource our members to take practical action to improve conditions for families, both nationally and in communities in which they live.
