The backbone of Mothers' Union is its
members and their involvement with their local communities.
Members
offer practical help and support to the Church and the Community in a
variety of activities and projects at both Diocesan and local levels.

Emergency Relief in the Congo....read

The
Relief Fund is administered from Mothers' Union central headquarters,
specifically for emergencies and disasters, such as war, famine and flood.
Members in Blackburn Diocese raise
money to support the Emergency Relief Fund
Because the MU often has workers already in the affected areas, emergency
supplies can be purchased locally to quickly reach those in need.
Sponsored
walk raises £550 for Worldwide Fund.
A
10 mile sponsored walk along the Leeds Liverpool canal recently
raised £550. Thank you to all concerned - it might have been flat
but it was still a very demanding walk.

This enables people experiencing
financial hardship or stress to take a much needed holiday or short break.
Applicants are referred by Mothers' Union members, the Clergy, Readers,
